Yes, we do same day CO2 gas bottle refills. Bring in any size bottle—chilled is preferred—and we’ll refill it for you while you wait, right here on the Gold Coast. If it’s not chilled then you will have to leave it with us. The preferred option is to drop off in the morning and we can have it ready for you that afternoon or the next day.
CO2 (carbon dioxide) is commonly used to push beer from the keg to the tap for several key reasons:
CO2 helps maintain the beer’s carbonation. Since beer naturally contains CO2, using it as the pressurizing gas keeps the beer’s fizziness intact, ensuring it retains its characteristic effervescence and taste.
CO2 preserves the beer by preventing it from coming into contact with oxygen. Exposure to oxygen can lead to oxidation, which degrades the flavor and can cause the beer to taste stale or “skunky.”
Using CO2 allows for precise control over the pressure in the keg. This pressure regulation is essential for ensuring a steady and consistent flow of beer from the keg to the tap, providing a better pouring experience and reducing waste from foaming.
CO2 works well with a wide variety of beers. It can be adjusted to suit the specific carbonation levels required for different styles of beer, making it a versatile choice for various brews.
CO2 is a clean gas that doesn’t introduce impurities into the beer. Unlike air or other gases, it doesn’t alter the beer’s flavor or composition, keeping the beer’s integrity intact from keg to glass.
Using CO2 thus ensures that the beer you pour from the tap is fresh, properly carbonated, and tastes just as the brewer intended.
